The Arizona SciTech Festival is a state-wide celebration of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM or STEAM when you include the arts) held annually in February and March. Through a series of over 1000 expos, workshops, conversations, exhibitions and tours held in diverse neighborhoods throughout the state, the Arizona SciTech Festival excites and informs Arizonans from ages 3 to 103 about how STEM will drive our state for next 100 years. Spearheaded by the Arizona Commerce Authority, Arizona Science Center, the Arizona Technology Council Foundation, Arizona Board of Regents, the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, the Arizona SciTech Festival is a grass roots collaboration of over 700 organizations in industry, academia, arts, civic, community and K-12.

The Diamond Ball is WVAC’s benefit gala for the arts. The evening features an elegant dinner, a lavish array of silent auction packages, dancing, and a one-carat diamond giveaway. The Diamond Ball began in 1994 and is still the largest fund raising event in the West Valley, attended by corporate, community, and philanthropic leaders committed to enhancing cultural life in the region. The gala not only helps support the West Valley Arts Council’s many programs and initiatives, but a portion of the funds raised is awarded to local arts groups, arts projects, schools, and non profits in the West Valley.

Shanker's Golf Classic is a day full of fun and activities made especially for the amateur golfer at heart. The Classic benefits The Honey Foundation, a Goodyear Arizona based non-profit, is promoting their mission of making the world a better place through Random Acts of Kindness. The Honey Foundation is helping to guide students at four Odyssey Preparatory Academy schools during the 2014-2015 school year. The goal of the program is to educate students and raise awareness about the benefits of performing Acts of Kindness. We believe each student can make a difference in their lives and the lives of others in the community.

On Monday, March 16, 2015, Midwestern University's Glendale Campus will become the Valley of the Sun's largest hair salon for the 16th-annual Cuts for Kids program. 

  • Professional hairstylists will cut hair free of charge (10 inches or more preferred for hair donors)
  • Donations accepted for haircuts for those with less than 10 inches of hair
  • Hair will be donated to Locks of Love to make wigs for kids with medical hair loss
  • Monetary proceeds will be donated to the local March of Dimes chapter Community booths, games, raffle, music, refreshments, and family fun

March of the Fallen (MOTF 2016) is a 4.5 mile ruck-march through the White Tank Mountains dedicated to honoring our fallen brothers & sisters who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the war efforts of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and Operation New Dawn (OND). Their watch is over now so we carry their weight upon our backs and continue onward in their honor.
