Public Affairs
The Public Affairs Committee serves as the policy-shaping engine of WESTMARC, guiding the organization’s advocacy efforts and legislative priorities in alignment with its mission. Collaborating across all issue-based committees, the group develops the Annual Legislative Agenda—a dynamic platform for members to engage in public policy discussions, shape official positions, and champion the interests of the West Valley.
This committee fosters informed dialogue and strategic partnerships with elected officials, ensuring that key regional priorities—from infrastructure and education to healthcare and economic development—are reflected in statewide decision-making. By equipping members with timely legislative insights and engagement opportunities, the committee strengthens WESTMARC’s voice across Arizona’s policymaking landscape.
Key Focus Areas:
- Securing vital state and federal resources to support Arizona’s growth and competitiveness
- Crafting and advocating WESTMARC’s Legislative Agenda in collaboration with issue committees
- Providing regular Legislative Updates and comprehensive Session Wrap-Ups to inform members
- Deepening relationships with local, regional, and state legislators to elevate West Valley priorities
Inform. Engage. Influence.
The Public Affairs Committee empowers members to be effective advocates and thought leaders, shaping a policy environment that supports the long-term success of the West Valley.
